Facebook for Business – Time-Saving Methods for Building a Fan Base

175 million people log on to Facebook every day. Approximately 350 million have an active account. That’s up from 70 million just two years ago. The business networking potential is obvious.

Here’s the good news for you and your chiropractic practice. It’s easy to join Facebook and add a business page or a page to your existing account. If you don’t already have a page promoting your chiropractic practice, you can have one set up in 15 minutes or less.

For those of you new to their site, we’ll offer a few simple instructions. First, log on and follow the directions to create an account. From the home page, scroll down, and select advertising from the bottom navigation bar. On the advertising page, look at the top navigation bar and choose “Pages.” You will then be able to create a page for your business by selecting the green ” create a page” button. Tailor the options to meet your needs.

As a busy chiropractor, you might wonder what it takes to effectively promote your chiropractic practice? Do you have enough time? What should you talk about?

Always remember Facebook is a social site. Traditional advertising won’t work. To be successful, you must become engaged. Read your friends’ news feeds and offer appropriate comments, kudos, and birthday wishes. (You can set your notifications tab to receive weekly emails about your friends’ birthdays.) Use the discussions tab to introduce interesting chiropractic topics. Invite questions and ask your followers to join in the dialogue.

Yes, we admit this can take a bit of time. But fortunately, there are a number of websites that make it easy to manage your updates. Ping.fm helps simplify your social media marketing efforts by allowing you to write a post, then automatically publish it to a variety of social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Take it a step further and pre-schedule your updates by using Hootsuite. Hootsuite allows you to create and post a series of updates when convenient, then schedule them to be published when you want. Be sure to blend your prescheduled updates with real-time posts to create an appropriate balance.
